Revalidation

Revalidation is an integral part of the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) registration for Nurses and Midwives in the United Kingdom (UK). All NMC registrants are required to revalidate every three years. Revalidation has several benefits including promoting good practice, protecting the public and strengthening confidence in the nurses and midwives.

This online workshop is designed to support those practitioners who are new to ‘revalidation’ or those who would like to explore ways in which they could gain more knowledge, skills, and confidence in the revalidation process.

During the workshop participants will be supported to start to create a portfolio. Each aspect of the revalidation process (practice hours, CPD, practice-repeated feedback, reflective accounts, reflective discussion, health and character declaration, professional indemnity arrangement and confirmation) will be explained.

Employing a participatory methodology, the workshop will enable participants to complete at least one reflective account and one reflective discussion. Written within the context of the NMC Code these reflections will demonstrate how they map onto different elements of the values and principles underpinning The Code.
