POSTPONED -Keeping your brain healthy from birth to 100 years and beyond
Our brains are an essential and yet much neglected part of our being. The adult human brain weighs around 1.4 KGs or 3lbs it is responsible for every thought we have, every word we say, every movement we make, every breath we take and everything else we do.
Despite its importance in our lives we tend to not give much thought to the brain or how to keep it healthy. Suitable for practitioners working with infants, children and older people, UNISON activists and those members who are thinking about life post retirement this half day workshop explores brain health from pregnancy and infancy through to old age.
It uses fun and interactive approaches to explain how the brain develops through childhood, adolescence and adulthood. The many different factors including education, nutrition, poverty and stress that affect brain health will be discussed and the things that we can to help our brain age well.
