Caring for Older People

Carers in both hospital and community settings need to be knowledgeable, flexible and positive in their interventions when caring for older people. It is essential to underpin this holistic approach with an insight into the relationships between the client’s individual needs, the attitudes, the resources available and the ongoing contributions the elderly population continue to make to Northern Ireland society as a whole. The workshop objectives are based on the idea that care of older people needs to be holistic with more insight into the concept of the ageing as defined within the 21st Century. This course is suitable for any healthcare professional who is involved in the care of older people in a variety of care settings.
