Autism Awareness

This half-day workshop is delivered by the Open University (OU) on Teams by a specialist
OU tutor to help UNISON members explore what autism is and how to support people with
autism.
This workshop is aimed mainly at school support staff (members based in primary schools,
teaching assistants and others working with children and young people) but would benefit
any member who works with children and young people.
The workshop covers the following themes:

what autism is
symptoms of autism
areas of difficulty
supporting children with autism
