POSTPONED – Motor Neurone Disease – Awareness and Management
The workshop will give health and social care professionals a greater understanding of Motor Neurone Disease and its impact, and provide strategies to help you support people with the condition. It will outline how this rare neurological condition is diagnosed; management throughout the condition and towards palliative care and end of life .
It is suitable for all staff working in health or care organisations with people with Motor Neurone Disease. The session will emphasise the importance of multidisciplinary management of this condition , anticipatory intervention and planning and understanding the complex nature of this disease in terms of network of carers and professionals that can be involved. It will also cover support from outside the statutory sector in terms of voluntary organisations such as the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
It will be delivered by an MND Nurse, a person who has been directly affected by the condition and representation from the Motor Neurone Disease Association
