Learning Disability – Understanding and supporting specific Health Conditions of people with a learning disability
Individuals with a learning disability are more vulnerable to certain health conditions. Individuals can also have a complex range of health needs. This workshop will focus on the associated health needs of an individual with a learning disability. It will cover assessment of pain. Within the workshop the term ‘diagnostic overshadowing’ will be explored and issues in regard to consent. It will also highlight the ‘hospital passport’ document.
This course is suitable for any health care professional who cares for an individual with a learning disability.
